As you have seen from each of these wars, the soldiers faced many hardships and struggles while fighting at war. In World War I, it showed the horrible living conditions of the soldiers in the trenches, and the many diseases they unfortunately received and died from. The gas masks were shown that the soldiers were forced to wear to survive, and the deadly gas attacks that were created and used during that war. In World War II, it showed how fighting from aircrafts became a big thing and the soldiers fought most of their battles from the air. Also, it was mentioned that soldiers faced the problem of rationing, where they were only given a limited amount of food each day, just enough to keep them going and be prepared to fight. Propaganda posters were shown to explain how citizens were convinced to either buy war bonds or join the army and help fight for their country. There were also a few letters added that the soldiers wrote home to their loved ones, personally discussing their daily struggles. In the Vietnam War, it showed the My Lai Massacre, and how a brave American pilot stood up against his soldiers to stop them from shooting the innocent Vietnam citizens. It wasn't until later that he was officially recognized for his action by the United States and was seen as a hero by the Americans. In the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro influenced the people of Cuba to fight against Flugencio Batista. With the help of his guerilla army, he planned a coup d'état and overthrew Batista. Finally, in the Mexican Revolution we learn how poorly the Mexican citizens were treated by a number of dictators that came to power during the 1910's. The citizens struggled to fight for their freedom, and soon found it with the help of the Flores-Magon brothers, who spoke up and eventually brought freedom to Mexico with other leaders who stood up along with the brothers. As a result, in each war many issues were faced by the soldiers or citizens before each country could be successful .
